A feeling is like the ringing of a bell.

A feeling is like the ringing of a bell.

The bell is rung by believing a thought.

I believe a thought and the thought sets something ringing in my body that resonates after the thought is believed. If I just let it ring, it fades all on its own.

But if I go to war with it, I ring the bell again. Each new warring thought I believe is another strike of the bell.

“I shouldn’t feel this way.” RING!

“I can’t endure this.” RING!

“Make it stop!” RING!

When I recognize that a feeling is just the ring that follows the striking of an emotional bell, I don’t have to go to war with any feelings that I’m having.

The problem is already past.

This is just the echo I’m experiencing and it’s already fading. It will soon be gone if I just let it ring out.

And only when I let my feelings ring all the way out, will I know lasting peace.

Nothing needs to be done about a feeling. I simply allow it to be. Then it leaves all on its own. And always right on time.
