“The only thing that stops me from living out of my own heart [as opposed to the hopes, dreams, criticisms, threats, judgments of others] is fear.
“The world changes and if I’m happy here [within] then I just move right along living out of my own heart in that context. Or I can argue with it and suffer.
“When I question my fearful thoughts and get clear, nothing can stop me from living out of my own heart. Love is a fearless state of mind.
“I didn’t change my life, I lived a “yes” to my heart’s desire and I became married to that. I had no other reason than that “yes” to leave an amazing life with my husband. As I began to travel, that became too much for him. And beyond me he began to make another life for himself. And I’m very grateful for that. He just did the right thing and I did the right thing.”
- Byron Katie (Podcast: “How do you know when it’s time to make a change?”)
What is my heart's desire? How do I know that’s what I’m hearing?
My heart’s desire is any stress-free feeling that wells up from within me from a place of peace, love and oneness.
If it is not peaceful, if it comes with any stress, it is not my heart’s desire. Which means…
To be accepted is not my heart’s desire.
To be vigilant is not my heart’s desire.
To be possessive is not my heart’s desire.
To be victorious over an imagined enemy is not my heart’s desire.
To impress others is not my heart’s desire.
To make more money is not my heart’s desire.
To legitimize my existence in the minds of others is not my heart’s desire
To justify my wealth in the minds of others is not my heart’s desire.
To meddle in the feelings of others is not my heart’s desire.
To “improve” others is not my heart’s desire.
To change anyone’s mind about anything is not my heart’s desire.
