All I need is love. But it’s important to know what it means to “love.”
To love you means to seek to
Accept you as you are
Understand you
No longer see you as separate
Recognize myself in you
Know that everything I give to you I am giving to myself, everything I take from you I am taking from myself, everything I say to you I am saying to myself and everything I do to you I am doing to myself.
See our common wholeness
Understand you as you understand yourself.
Allow you to notice that you are safe with me
Know I am safe with you, that you cannot hurt me (because that’s my job).
Loving you does not mean I seek to
Sustain what you are doing
(especially if it isn’t done out of love)
Sustain your view of the world
(especially if you’re not seeing love)
Remain in your presence
(especially if it’s missing love)
Grant your requests
(especially if they won’t bring you love)
Comply with your commands
(especially if they’re directing me away from love)
Loving you just means I seek for LOVE to be the only tool I ever use to affect anything between us. Not outward SHOWS of love, but actual love inside my heart. Because that kind of love is the only tool that’s capable of...
Accessing the truth of who you are
Expressing the truth of who I am and
Creating a world I can truly live in with you
(because it’s the only one completely and utterly rooted in the truth).
