You get what you need.

I used to think, “You get what you deserve.”

  • Be “good” and good things will happen.

I don’t believe that anymore.

Then I thought, “You get what you earn.”

  • I get what I get because of what I set in motion. I’m responsible for what I get, good or bad. Want something different? Do different things. It’s not about deserving, it’s about taking responsibility for what I get through my actions.

I don’t believe that anymore.

Now I think, “You get what you need.”

  • The universe is caring for me at all times without my conscious participation. There’s nothing I can do about it but notice that, wherever I am, I’m always getting exactly what I need (if not always what I want).

My evidence? I have survived everything that’s ever happened to me. Without my story of lack, I have always been okay. And if I am able to get quiet and really look at how things have turned out, I will see that I have reason to be grateful for all the “good” that has come from all the “bad” that has ever happened to me.

I believe the universe is peaceful, kind, joyful and caring prior to my argument with it. The only problem I ever have is in my argument. Without my argument, every hardship is a lesson, every enemy a teacher, to illuminate where I’m asleep to the Truth of eternal peace and joy so I can clear it up.
